Community Workshops

It is a well-known fact that early intervention by members of the public, before the arrival of an ambulance or medical professional, significantly improves the casualty's outcome, however, a recent study found that 7 out of 10 people living in Bahrain do not know what they should do to help or know how to perform skills such us CPR.

Royal Life Saving Bahrain has developed a number of community-based workshops, to give members of the public the knowledge, skills, and most importantly, confidence to help in a number of emergency situations.

Everyday Lifesaver Workshop

We believe that everyone should have the skills and confidence to be an everyday lifesaver. This 90-minute practical workshop is designed to give you the confidence to perform CPR in an emergency situation. This workshop is available in both English and Arabic.

Is this course suitable for me?

This 90 minute workshop is suitable for anyone above the age of 8 and can be delivered in both English and Arabic. We deliver to groups of up to 200 people in one session, so it would also be a great activity for a large team.

What will I learn on the course?

During the workshop, you will learn how to check if a person is breathing normally (Primary Survey) as well as how to perform CPR, understand what an Automated External Defibrillator is, and how to put a person in the recovery position.

Is there an assessment at the end?

Our workshops are fun, awareness and confidence-building sessions and are not assessed, however, the trainer will give you feedback on your skills throughout the session to help you improve your technique.

How long is the certificate valid for, and how do I renew it?

This workshop is non certified, however, we can issue a pdf certificate of attendance upon request.

How much does the course cost?

Save A Little Life Workshop

An accident or serious injury to a child or infant is every parent's worst fear. The majority of child and infant related deaths and injuries occur in or around the home, and parents or child carer's often say that they felt under-prepared on uncertain about what they should do to help. The 3-hour Save a Little Life Workshop is designed to give you the skills and confidence to respond in a number of emergency situations.

Is this course suitable for me?

Our 3 hour Save a Little Life Workshop has been designed for new or expectant parents, as well as nannies, maids or anyone else who is resp for looking after 'little' people. This workshop focusses on accident prevention and being prepared, as well as how to treat and manage the most common childhood accidents and injuries.

What will I learn on the workshop?

During the workshop, you will learn how to check if a person is breathing normally (Primary Survey) as well as how to perform CPR, understand what an Automated External Defibrillator is, and how to put a person in the recovery position. In addition, you will take part in a practical water session where you will learn how to supervise children correctly, and how to perform safe and effective rescues from the water.

Is there an assessment at the end?

Our workshops are fun, awareness and confidence-building sessions and are not assessed, however, the trainer will give you feedback on your skills throughout the session to help you improve your technique.

Save A Little Life Workshop

Drowning is one of leading causes of accidential death in children under 10 years old, and in many cases is entirely preventable with correct supervision, Our 3 hour water wise workshop is designed for anyone with the responsibility of supervising children in or around water.

Is this course suitable for me?

Our 3 hour Water Wise Workshop combines our Everyday Lifesaver Workshop with a theory and practical water session at a pool or beach. It has been designed for parents, nannies, maids and anyone else who is responsible for supervising children of infrants in or around water.

What will I learn on the workshop?

This practical workshop covers a number of topics, including CPR, choking, bleeding, sepsis, accident prevention, febrile convulsions, croup and much more.

Is there an assessment at the end?

Our workshops are fun, awareness and confidence building sessions and are not assessed, however, the trainer will give you feedback on your skills throughout the session to help you improve your technique.

How long is the certificate valid for, and how do I renew it?

This workshop is non certificated, however, we can issue a pdf certificate of attendance upon request.
