Theory and practical sessions will take place in both a training room and swimming pool.

Is there an assessment at the end?

At the end of the course, you will complete 2 multiple choice question papers based on the content you have learnt on your course. You must answer at least 80% of the questions correctly to pass each of the question papers. You will also be assessed on your practical first aid, rescue, and fitness skills throughout the course. If you do not pass any sections of the assessment, you can be reassessed within 28 days of the initial assessment date, once you have had more time to practice the areas you have been unsuccessful in.

How long is the certificate valid for and how do I renew it?

Ride Attendant

Our 2 day ride attendant course gives you training and skill requirements to operate and supervise waterslides, flumes and other water attractions such as splash decks designed for water play that have little or no standing water. Following a supervision risk assessment, a pool operator may decide that a ride attendant is sufficient for the safe and effective supervision of these attractions, rather than a Pool Lifeguard.

Teacher’s Rescue Award

Our 2 day Teacher’s Rescue Award course is designed for anyone responsible for supervising and conducting structured swimming activities, such as swimming lessons or aqua aerobics. These activities often take place without the presence of lifeguards, which is why it is essential that instructors know how to respond in the event of an emergency during their classes.
